As many of you know we started this project years ago and even if we had some achievements, we had to realise that we can't continue the development of Renaissance in our free time without proper funding. We have tried everything to raise money through the years, but we failed. Most of the investors we have talked to, found our project too risky and/or not mainstream enough. They thought, it wouldn't bring enough customers to be financially successfull due to its sandbox design.

We were always against setting up a donation system, because we thought, it would look unprofessional and due to bad experiences with other indie studios in the past, people would think, it is a scam.

Why do we do this now anyway? It's simple: There were projects in the past, who managed to raise fundings from their most loyal fans and we also believe that many people are out there, who are still looking for the best sandbox MMO experience and would also invest something into it to get that experience.

We intend and are capable to produce an AAA MMORPG, but it is a huge project. Being in Hungary without the real possibility to reach for professional funding we have no other way to start this development.

On the left side you see our donation widget. You click the button and send us the intended ammount of money, you want to invest. The transaction will be processed securely through PayPal and we keep the money on the PayPal account until the targeted ammount of money is collected. In our widget you can always see, how many people contributed and how much money we collected.

If we reach our goal, we will start the development. If we don't reach our goal, every person, who donated, will be refunded (PayPal fees excluded).

We have set our first target ammount to $30.000 until the end of March 2010. This would allow us to finish our own game engine and produce enough models and animations for a first graphical demo.

We will always report about our work on the main site and/or on our forums and when it's done, a new milestone will be set and a new ammount of money will be targeted with a new ending date.

First of all, you make it possible to get the MMORPG you always wanted to play.
Beside that, every person, who donate, will get an early beta access, when we reach that state.
Based on the ammount of the donation we will also give away other rewards, like free game boxes, lifetime accounts etc., which will be determined later, when this action is successfull and we are in the position to decide about such things.
