Right, So i like the idea of a sandbox with models and land scape setup in it.

Cash shop VS subscription? they both have good and bad sides to them but a game like this needs a high level player base. I think because this game isn't like other games it would be smart to have both. Free to play wouldn't be able to build a house but can have a room in the INN of your town. Free to play would have less bag space and other stuff. If they wanted to have more bag space or a house then they can buy it from the cash shop per month. If you paid for the subscription then you could save your self a lot of money and get everything. I love the idea of having a lot of space to explore but to never see another player or not have a lot of people in the city you spent so much time to make would be bad. Free to play with cash shop Would bring in a lot of players as most of them want to try it out and see how much they like it. A lot of people checking out the game for awhile would keep towns active.
I'm not saying you have to agree with it but saying it's just an idea. The more i read about this game the more i want to play it as if this is the way it should of been done all along. I have thought that about a few games but they failed after they open and didn't follow though. Anyways that is just my 2 cents :)

*dies, and gets revived again*

Anyway, I hate chash shops, in any form, I prefer to see, (in this example in the game RuneScape) that almost everything is for 'members' than to see "You have to pay for that!" I am for either a trial period, or a certain region that none-paying people are only allowed (and paying people can also come). If you were to add a cash shop by the way, to the free-to play part, then you can count on it that some people think the payshop is also in the subscribed part of the game, and even if you were to write that that isn't so, some people might not read it, post it on forums and sites etcetera, and those posts on sites and forums will keep away other people from playing (Oh, and I think payshops pull down the quality of the game, WoW for example, seems of much higher quality, partially becouse it has no payshop (with one exception, but that was for charity of some place, and not for Blizzard).

Wow has a lot of players but this isn't wow. Runes of magic is a cash shop game it has a lot of players. I do understand why you don't like cash shop games. I was saying to have cash shop to get the things a normal person has maybe you want a house, boat, or mount.
Also what about having it to where you can change the color of an item in the cash shop. Anything that you don't need but would want can be in the cash shop. This way you can have the free to play players fill your towns so it don't look like a ghost town. It's a balance. One that can make or break a game like this.

Cash shops are like grafiti, they might be nice for one part, but they ruin the complete image of the game, and they're hard to remove (from peoples minds)

Not everyone thinks that and also they would have the choice to pay per month if they wish. Having it free to play would help build this game up faster and you have to remember that wow is a small map so populating a game like wow isn't as big of problem as populating a game that is much bigger. The point is to do it and do it right.

Maybe you could make it free to play, but only in the 4 main cities (Atleast, I thought it was 4...) and limit the things they can do, that way, they can get a taste of the game, without the darned cash shop (It worked for Runescape)
